What do you do first?
The first thing you should do is go to the "Build Menu" tab and build a "Woodcutter" and a "Stone Quarry". These are the buildings you will need in order to replenish your Wood & Stone resources.
The Woodcutter and Stone Quarry will supply you with the resources to build more of the items that you will need in order to fortify your Castle.
I would recommend that you build a Woodcutter and Stone Quarry (in that order) until you have three of each building. You will not need to build a farmhouse until you decide to add soldiers to your Castle (I will get into the reasoning behind that in a separate post).
How many do I need (Woodcutter / Stone Quarry)?
In the beginning, I would recommend building only three of each of the Woodcutter and Stone Quarry. Each building can be upgraded to produce more resources without using up more of your limited courtyard space.
Why three of each? Mainly because only the first three buildings in your Castle will produce at full capacity (100% output). Only your main Castle is allotted 3 of each resource building that produce at 100% capacity (More details on "limits" will be published in another post). Having 3 resource buildings (Wood, Stone, Food) will give you enough supplies to make the other buildings that you will need in this game.
Every resource building, built after the first 3 buildings, will only be able to produce at 75% capacity of the last building built.
For example, after the allotted 3 resource buildings at 100%, the next resource building built will only produce at 75% capacity (which is 75% of the 100% capacity building). Then, the next building will only produce at 56% capacity (which is 75% of the 75% capacity building). The buildings resource capacity will continue to decrease at this rate until output is at 1% (How this works will be explained in more detail in a separate post).
